Molly of Denali is an action-adventure comedy that follows the adventures of a feisty and resourceful 10-year-old Molly Mabray, an Alaska Native girl, her dog Suki, and friends Tooey and Trini on their adventures in epically beautiful Alaska. Molly lives with her family in Qyah, Alaska, where she helps her mom and dad run the Denali Trading Post, a general store, bunkhouse, and transport hub.

Go to PBSKIDS.ORG and watch episode "Cabbage Zilla". After viewing, use your technology device to find out more about the State of Alaska. Start by thinking of what you would want to know about Alaska; it may help to write your questions down on paper. After getting the answers from a secure website, share what you learned with family and friends.

*Parent/Guardian- Assist your child with this extended activity. In the city that you live in, locate it on the Mississippi map, draw a diagram pointing to the city. Draw a picture or write a short story about something special you like to do or a place in your city you like to visit and why.

Summer Learning Family Fun Week 2020 — You Can Count & Story time with Terrence "Da Story Weaver" Roberts

Wednesdays family prize package goes to Ashly S. of Ridgeland, MS

Ashly and her family from Ridgeland submitted their Peg + Cat "You Can Count" activity. They created math word problems by creatively counting items in their home.

You Can Count! Activity Submissions

The Fred Rogers Company introduces a new animated preschool series featuring Peg and her sidekick, Cat, as they encounter unexpected challenges that require arithmetic and problem-solving skills. Each episode features two stories in which Peg and Cat face a math word problem that they must solve.

Take a look around the house and let’s have some fun counting and adding. Have your paper and pencil ready to add. You can count and add the following:

The number of letters in your family member’s first name:

mom’s name + child's name = ___

windows + doors = ___

chairs + tables = ___

cups + plates = ___

forks + spoons = ___

bowls + coffee mugs = ___

stuffed animals + sports balls = ___

lamps + clocks = ___

*Parent/Guardian- Create an additional list of things in your home or in your neighborhood to add (for example, pets-those who have dogs + those who have cats). Use the numbers to write a word problems for family and friends to solve. Example: Kennan set 6 cups on the table. His sister, Layla adds two large bowls on the table. How many items are on the table?
